Retro Easter egg takes you back to see what Google looked like in 1998, when the company was first founded.
In 1998, technology took some major leaps forward for mankind. Human cloning, having some recent developments, gets forbidden by 19 European nations, and the world’s largest suspension bridge (1.234 miles) is unveiled in Japan.
Google was founded, and this week is celebrating its 15 year anniversary.
For the occasion, Google’s search engine has given us an Easter Egg to play around with for a bit of fun. If you type in “Google in 1998″, into Google, the page will bring you to a retro version of Google, complete with the old logo.
You cannot do an actual search, however. After typing in the above phrase, the page points you to a bunch of historical and interesting fun facts about Google. In 1998, the above phrase garnered a paltry 234,000 results. Nowadays, the same search today will net you 9.24 billion results!
