The Google Play store is missing a big feature, although it seems like it is rife with apps, so it should have everything you could possibly need. Except…
A dedicated vending machine.
Google launched only 3 of these vending machines today in Tokyo, Japan. They are designed to let people download Google Play apps.
When you place your phone in the Google Play Vending Machine tray, you can start browsing the various games, currently 18 of them, on the giant touchscreen. Some are free. Some you have to pay for. And, if you don’t have your Android device with you, there is a Nexus 4 on hand that you can try out and play with.
Is there much point in a vending machine like this? It appears the only point is that this can be likened to a giant, highway billboard sign to promote the Google Play Store and Android on the Island of Japan.
The Google Play vending machines will, not only promote the apps to passersby, they also provide something fun for people to experience. The vending machines work with all devices that have Android 4.0+ and NFC, making most devices applicable.
