It’s Official.  Twitter’s TweetDeck support for mobile apps is no more.

With the retirement of API v1, Twitter has had to block access to numerous third-party clients.

With the introduction of API v1.1, many services will no longer work.   TweetDeck, SilverBird and DestroyTwitter are among the services affected.

Twitter’s Taylor Singletary said in a blog post:

“Based on the blackout tests and looking at the numbers, we can see that the vast majority of applications have transitioned to API v1.1. If you still have not updated your app and you want people to be able to continue using it, it’s not too late! Documentation is available here.”

Singletary noted that, for many it is not too late for third-party applications to optimise themselves for API v1.1.   Many third-party applications have already taken care of this.
Twitter acquired TweetDeck in 2011, but now has been focusing on expanding the browser-based versions of the service, instead of mobile apps. For users using web browsers, TweetDeck is still available.
